Best mobile mining ship?

just restarted and have decided to mobile mine after mission two. I'm currently still using the express hat I was lent to do some trading. Made about 200K so far. I was thinking about going Teladi for my MMing ship, but which is the best bearing in mind that I only have about 500K, after I sell the shields and stuff.

I found the Teladi Vulture to be a most capable mobile mining ship. Save up then get a TL to rteally rock!

Well at that stage I am assuming that you have not improved race relations with either the split or paranid so in that case
all you will be able to buy for mobile mining is the Teladi vulture. 
If you have better relations with the Paranid I would probably buy a Demeter Front mountable weapons for emergency defence.

yeah... I kinda forgot that the paranid/split won't let me dock, lol. But I don't think I'll need any emergency defence yet as the Khaak have not yet come.

The vulture is fine, and easy to get without making new friends. Plenty of cargo space too, just a bit sluggish.
500k will be plenty. The mining kit costs about 200k (including mineral scanner and ore collector!), leaving 300k for the ship and cargo/engine/rudder upgrades. It may not get you a fully maxed ship (I don't know the total cost of a maxed ship) but you should be able to get close to max initially...

I wouldnt try mining in a TL, its too big ands takes ages hooevring up the rock bits. Stick to th vulture.

With a TL, you get dolphins to pick up the ore/silicon.

And if you use the Xai Automining script, along with the Advanced Salesman script, you can suck the universe dry with a Demeter, three other "pickup" TS and one Jumpdrive seller.
Just need a TL homebase!
